="Nanotechnology in an Advancing Society"=#5

Imagine a world living with technology a size of an atom – they’re tiny, really tiny – cannot be seen by the naked eye.
We live in a world of advancing technology. As I have read in an article – the world of nanotechnology has been popularized. It is world of controlling the shape and size of matter at the nanoscale level, which is measuring in nanometers – one billionth of a meter, or approximately 100,000 nanometers in diameter of a human hair.  This means – we have technologies the size on an atom – not to be exaggerated but this is true.
Curiously, I’ve made researches regarding on the topic nanotechnology in an advancing society. Uldrich (2006) said that nanotechnology is the future generation – the transformational technology of the century. It came to the society gradually developing from passive nanostructure with materials design to perform one task, to active nanostructure with materials with multitasking ability, up to the system of nanosystems that consist of thousands of interacting components.
As nanotechnology spreaded, more developments have come about and because of these developments, nanotechnology has helped the society in prolonging and improving the qualities of life.
How? Well, first is that nanotechnology has helped in the economic industry. It has helped in the energy production like developing the performance of batteries which can be good as new after sitting on the shelf for decades and which can be recharged significantly faster than conventional batteries. It also helped in the production of lighter and stronger materials for the transportation and infrastructures and it has helped in the production of smaller and more powerful weapons and surveillance devices.
Nanotechnology has also helped in the medical field. It has helped in designing pharmaceutical that helps cure people faster without side-effects. It has also helped in tissue regeneration, bone repair, immunity, and cure for diseases. Also, it has helped in assisting on surgeries and repair hard-to-operate areas in the body.
Also, nanotechnology has greatly helped in cleansing the environment. It has helped in eliminating chemical toxins in the environment with nanorobots that has the ability to eat these toxins. It has also helped in recycling all garbage with nanomaterials that can make objects as recyclable as structures built and rebuilt out of blocks, thus reducing our resource consumption.
Nanotechnology has certainly made products and devices that are very useful to the society. It’s amazing how technology has evolved and developed for the use in the society. This powerful technology will radically extend the capabilities of practically every area of human endeavor by exploring the ultimate limits of fabrication. Nanotechnology is the potential answer to all of our problems.

.."FIREWORKS":by Neslie Militante..#4

 http://lifeatmsuiit.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-favorite-music-video-is-music-video_23.html

Having seen and heard the music video entitle Fireworks by Katy Perry, it really does inspires people who are afraid of expressing their true self as what the blogger neslie had felt.
Each and everyone of us is different. And a lot of people are afraid to show their inner self. They are afraid to show who they really are. And they are afraid of what might other people think of their true self. But you know something, true self is what make each person unique – it’s what makes them shine above all else.
True self is what makes every person their own. It is where your deepest thoughts live. It is what you ultimately think of yourself, how you treat yourself and what you fear others might see inside you. It is your most native and real personality.
Each and everyone of us must have the confidence to show who they really are, for it will be the reason for them to have the life that they want to have. If they are just going to hide through the shadows then, they won’t have the chance to live through what they really desire.
Like me also, I am a shy type of person but mostly I am not afraid to show who I really am – that’s me. I embrace the person who I’ve become and I am happy just the way I am.

-"EARTH SONG"-#3

“the EARTH is our home – our LIFE.”
In the beginning, before man walked the Earth – the world was at peace – it was heaven. At the time came man, as it evolved – began the unraveling truth.
The untouched beauty of mother Earth gradually vanished as man started abusing the generosity of nature. It's so sad really.
As the music video of Michael Jackson entitled “Earth Song” has shown – the horrifying truth of what has become of mother Earth. It has shown a great deal about how our only home has become something that we are afraid of happening. It has shown how man has destroyed everything, and yet few have noticed and mostly nobody cared.
Mother Earth is crying – can't everyone feel it?
Disasters and calamities are now occurring; it's because of what man have done to the world. And now, we too, are also suffering because of what we've done. We, not only destroyed mother Earth but also our own lives.
We have felt the wrath of mother Earth – what can we do? Is it too late?
This music video really touched my heart. The horrifying truth of what is happening to the Earth is so tragic. This video wants to open our eyes and see everything that we have done. It wants to tell that we need to stop destroying our own world. Of course, few of us aren't aware or are we? We just don't want to do something about it. If we don't do something, all will be lost.
Mother Earth needs us – she need us badly.
To all of us – let us help for the greater good. We still have the chance to do something – just little steps at a time. For such small things that we can do, can make a difference. Let us do our job as a citizen, living in this world that Almighty God has bestowed upon us – let us help create and bring back the beauty of our world.

_"A Time of My Life" _#2

in Fantasy Land without my brother in the picture because he doesn't like to be taken a picture.

Last year, my family and I went on a getaway trip. Escape from the busy life – that’s what we did. It’s still fresh in my memory, the most adventurous trip ever. You know I’ve been through many exciting trips, but the most memorable of all was when my family and I went to Dapitan.
Just before New Year’s Day, my father made a surprising announcement. He wants to take us to an interesting place where we can relax, enjoy, and have fun. My father is actually full of surprises and just so you know it, he’s actually taking us the Fantasy Land in Dapitan. The Fantasy Land is actually like Disney Land but not quite. Disney Land is much nicer and bigger, with lots of rides and stalls; I’ve always dreamed of going there ever since I was a child, maybe one day I will, when I can actually afford to go there. Fantasy Land is just the first step, at least I can experience a little bit of Disney Land, and I’m thankful because my father put an effort of making us happy. I’m really glad that finally we can enjoy our vacation, we can finally go to a place that is so interesting for me because I really want to go to an amusement park. I’m also glad because my best friend came with us; I actually invited her to come so I can share an exciting moment with her, because she’s like a part of our family. We were all excited really for this trip.
We actually planned on a two day trip so we can return on the eve on New Year’s Day. We just want to visit Dapitan so we can enjoy but we need to get back home quickly because it’s risky for us to leave our house unattended and our pet’s will starve to death. We scheduled our departure on the crack of dawn of the 30th of December. And with this trip, we decided to use the family car.
On the night before our trip, just before we went to bed, we prepared everything for the road tomorrow; we packed our extra clothes for one night sleep over in Dapitan, and we prepared enough snacks and water for our travel. My best friend also prepared everything she needs and decided to sleep over so we can leave early in the morning. My best friend and I were really excited and to so much delight, we didn’t have much sleep and we actually got up very early. We got ready, fuelled up our stomachs, and with a full tank, we were all set to go. We left at exactly 6 am in the morning, and estimated time to arrive in Dapitan in noon. In our travel, the most familiar places we have to pass are: first is Ozamis City, second is Oroquieta City, third is Calamba City, and then straight ahead would be Dapitan City.
On the start of our trip, my best friend and I actually fell asleep, but when we got to the barge going to Ozamis, my mom woke us up. We all got out of the car, and went up the deck of the barge. It was really fun riding the barge, we can fell the breeze going through our faces and just blowing our hair with the strong wind. While riding on the barge you can’t actually see much, it’s just water everywhere, but we had fun just by riding. When we arrive in Ozamis, we got down the barge and in to the car, and on our way again. We were wide-awake since when we got to Ozamis, so we enjoyed all the way. We enjoyed looking outside the window just seeing all the “palayan” and the mountains. When we got to Oroquieta City, we got lost because we didn’t know which way to go next. We looked around and at the sign boards, and we found the arrow leading to Calamba City, although it was a rough road so we were wondering if it’s the right path, and we actually go for it. It’s quite a long and rocky road, and it took us a long time to get out of that path, and we’d confirm it – we were lost, and there no one there to talk to. We just keep on going until we finally found someone riding on a motorbike. We were lucky; we ask the man which way to go to Dapitan. He told us that we took the long road in the Oroquieta mountains, when actually there an easy road; well that’s that, he told us to go straight ahead and we’ll find a steel bridge, once we’ve pass that, we’ll find our way out of the mountains. We went on, and thankfully we got out just fine. We found ourselves in Calamba City and just continued on to Dapitan. We’ve manage to arrive in Dapitan at almost 1 pm in the afternoon. We toured around a bit so we can manage find our way later on. We got really hungry after the long ride, so we decided to find a fast-food, surprisingly, there’s no fast-food there in Dapitan, just small “karinderias”, therefore we have no other choice but to eat in one of the “karinderias”. We ate in the “karinderia” near the Fantasy Land. The food there was not that bad, but I didn’t like it so much, so I didn’t finish it. After having lunch, we rest for a bit, then we went on a head to Fantasy Land. When we arrive in Fantasy Land, it was closed; it won’t open until 3 in the afternoon, so we have a lot of time to spare. We decided to visit Rizal Park. Dapitan was actually the place where Jose Rizal, our national hero, got exiled. In honor of the hero, they decided build a place for him. The Rizal Park was the actual place where Rizal stayed in. You can see there, a  lot of huts made by Rizal himself. There’s the hut where he sleeps in, the hut where he teaches children, the huts for medical purposes, and there’s even the hut for bathroom purposes. It was an amazing place really. there’s even the first drainage system that Rizal made. Also, there was a museum, where the life and works of Rizal was displayed, even the copy of the old manuscripts of the famous writing of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo was there. It’s really wonderful to see that the people really appreciated what Dr. Jose Rizal did for our country. After going to the Rizal Park, we went on to the famous Dakak beach resort. It was outside the boundaries of Dapitan actually but it’s not that far. It was really nice there in Dakak, with all the white sand. We just went in the waters real quick because it was really very hot there and we don’t want to get sunburned. After finishing up, we went back to Fantasy Land. When we got there, the power suddenly went off, but luckily it went back. We then bought our tickets so we can get in. We chose to get the 300php ticket where chosen rides are unlimited – it means that we can ride as many times as we can. My best friend and I went over directly to the roller coaster ride that I’ve been dying to try out. It wasn’t really that scary, it quite exciting, but unfortunately it wasn’t the one I expected; I expected it to be a 360o roller coaster, but none the less, I enjoyed it. We actually rode the roller coaster many times, more or less 10 times, and then we went on to the bumper cars, and we also rode many times. We were actually enjoying ourselves; we went on all kinds of rides and rode it many times; we were having the time of our lives. Also this one both that is really interesting, but it wasn’t one of the unlimited rides. The Horror House – we were really drawn to it because a lot of people actually got in line, so we too, tried it; we paid extra 50 so we can get in. When we got in, it was really fascinating, the props and effects were really believable, I even got a little bit scared. The Fantasy Land was really an amazing experience. We really enjoyed our time there. We finished all the rides just around midnight but still the fun there never stops; they had programs prepared at night where people can really enjoy the time but we had to get some rest for our trip back home. We stayed for the night in a hotel near the beach, we got ready for bed, and slept in with all the enjoyment.
The next morning, we got up early. We went a walk on the beach before dawn, it was really cold, but the fresh air was nice. Afterwards, we got ready to go back home. We took our free meal in the hotel and went on the road. Before we head back, we decided to see Dipolog City, just straight ahead of Dapitan. The boulevard there was really stunning, it was well constructed, it’s good to go for a jog there next time. After Dipolog City, we went on our journey back home. Our final stop, before going home was in Oroquieta City.  We ate our lunch there in a restaurant, and then we went to the marine sanctuary and me and my best friend went swimming with the dolphins. My mom, dad, and my brother didn’t want to get in so it’s just the two of us. It was really amazing, we got down the waters, we used the diving equipments to breathe underwater, and we saw the dolphins up close, we even fed them, it was really a wonderful experience. We actually stayed a long time there because we were enjoying ourselves, we explored the seas there, we saw a lot of marine animals underwater and also the huge coral reefs. It was really fun. Then, we went out of the waters and took a bath again. After were done, we went on our way. We took the barge again and it was already dark, we saw the beautiful lights from the city across the waters. It was really stunning. Then, we got down the barge and drove on the way home. We got home just in time for New Year’s Day.
The get-away trip was really very enjoying and exciting. That was the most fun experience that I’ve ever had. Although it was really tiring to go on a two day trip, still, it was worth it. I hope to have that experience again next time. “What A Wonderful Day”.

"Hidden Nature" #1

Each and everyone of us is different. We all come in different SHAPES and SIZES – we have different likes and dislikes, we have different characteristics and personalities, we have different thoughts and ideas about different things, we are different-physically. Different as in DIFFERENT. Although we have these differences, all of us want to understand each other and communicate well because we live together in the same world, we want to meet different individuals at the middle where we can connect with each other and create balance and harmony around us.
We say that we are different from other people. How are we different? What makes us different really? I mean the thing that can signify our INDIVIDUALITY – the thing that can distinguish you from others, the thing that you only have that others cannot get. Do you know the thing that can separate you from others? Do you know what makes you – YOU? Find yourself and just think of your best asset.
To tell you honestly, it’s not easy to know your best asset if you don’t know who you are. You have to know yourself and find the inner you. You have to know what makes you unique from others.
What makes me unique? I’m having a hard time thinking about the thing that makes me unique. You know, a lot of people tell me that my best asset is my long, brown beautiful hair, others tell me that it’s my skin complexion. Not to be brag about it but my hair is my crowning glory. I love my hair and I’ve put much effort on beautifying it, but I don’t think that it’s my best asset. Talking about my skin complexion, it’s really quite fair, I admit that my skin complexion is much more fairer than others but I don’t know why some people say that it’ my best asset. I consider my hair and my complexion to be one of my greatest assets but not the best. When you say best asset, it means the best – the one that makes you stands out from others.
I am just a simple girl, but, what is special about me? You want to know? I’ll tell you. It’s the thing that can’t be perceived, the thing that can’t be reached by light – the thing that is hidden captive. “What it takes to be me is – my PERSONALITY”. My personality is what makes me different from others – my personality to interact with my surroundings and to other people. My personality is my best asset.
My PERSONALITY – I find it rather unusual. People who don’t know me might have a hard time understanding me. Even my friends don’t know me very well. I myself get confused sometimes with my personality.
I am a person who is hard to figure out. I present myself in a kind and gentle manner that I could to create the impression of being friendly. I want to have a good impression on people. Although, I admit that I am a shy person and I’m not fond of mingling with others. It’s not that I don’t like them nor am I afraid of them, actually, I want to reach out to people but I’m having a hard time expressing myself. I’m not used to mingling with other people really, because I’m afraid of people seeing my flaws. Although, I exert an effort to know the people around me. I can mingle, I can easily cooperate with people, and I can adapt to changes but it takes a lot of time for me to get used to it. But mostly, I want to be alone. I want to distant myself to others. I’m comfortable being alone because it makes it easier for me to do things. It’s really ironic – I want to but at the same time I don’t.
I am quite misunderstood and judge by some people. They sometimes perceive me as snobbish and “arte” because of how I project myself and because I’m reluctant in exchanging words with them. It’s my nature, my defense mechanism, so that people can’t say terrible thing about me. It’s just that I don’t want to make long conversations and give away something that might startle people, but I want to socialize, I just don’t know how.
One thing though, I am really sensitive. I am a keen observer – I look at things critically, although, you might not notice it. I want the people to think that I care less of other people’s business, but the truth is I am concerned. I am concerned with my surroundings. The activities that people do everyday, the things that they engage themselves into that causes trouble for others, especially the offensive things; it worries me, for the people that will be affected. I actually want to help others.  I want to make changes for the good of all that is living. For now, I can only do little things, but even that little thing can somehow make a difference. I am driven to help people, even animals, or any living creatures in this world. It’s actually in my nature too – my determination to help others. It’s not always clear to me why I get so affected by things that may or may not concern me, but somehow I don’t show any signs of struggle. It’s just in my heart that I want to help but I don’t how to do it.
It’s simple really – I am not outspoken. I simply feel things but don’t show my feelings to others. But maybe, in the long run, I will definitely change for the better. I whole-heartedly accept it as my nature – my best asset. Being modest can actually do me good, although, sometimes it can be a disadvantage. Even so, being myself is what makes me different – what makes me UNIQUE.

<..F-R-I-E-N-D-S..>

Friends are those you cherish the most
People who will help, when your alone and lost
Kepping you safe, and protecting you from harm
Always there to defend, when you sound the alarm

They are the one's that make you smile when your sad
Laughing together brings you joy and makes you feel glad
Just hearing those voices singing out loud,
Makes your day happy and proud

Treasure friends, as i say to all
'cause they are the one's that will help if you call
Precious as gems, as sun brings the day
FRIENDS kept in my heart for as long as i may
